Retirement reception set for Riggenbach

MONTE VISTA — Susan Riggenbach of the USDA Farm Service Agency in Monte Vista is retiring. 

 A retirement open house is to be held Thursday, January 24th from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Monte Vista USDA Service Center, located at 0881 N Hwy 285 in Monte Vista. 

 All are invited to honor and recognize Susan’s more than 25 years of service to USDA and the farmers and ranchers of Rio Grande/Mineral/Hinsdale Counties. 

 Susan began her USDA career in 1987 working for the Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service (ASCS). 

It was during this time that the agency reorganized to the Farm Service Agency thru which she has helped to deliver many different and complex agriculture programs to local farmers and ranchers.   

She has expressed many times how she has enjoyed knowing and working with local producers over the years.   

Stop by the county office January 24th to enjoy refreshments, exchange stories and extend best wishes.
