ALAMOSA — SLV Regional Medical Center (SLVRMC) has teamed up with the Colorado Colorectal Screening Program (CCSP) to provide free screenings. The CCSP is a statewide program, coordinated through the University of Colorado Cancer Center, that partners with healthcare providers to provide no cost colorectal screening to the underserved. The grant will allow 19 patients to receive free screenings at SLVRMC through April 2013.
To be eligible for the grant patients must: meet Colorado identity and citizenship verification criteria; have no health insurance or have an insurance plan that does not cover any cost for these screenings; meet income requirements; and, be 50 and older or under 50 with personal or family history of colon cancer.
