ALAMOSA – Six-year-old KayLee Gonzales-Moore will join AHS senior Alissa Sinclair as the Valley Courier’s Little Miss and Miss Merry Christmas in the annual edition on Wednesday.
KayLee was drawn from nearly 40 entries for the 2012 edition. She is the daughter of Leslie Gonzales and James Moore and is a kindergartner at Alamosa Elementary.
Alissa, daughter of Matt and Eva Sinclair, was selected on the basis of having been elected Alamosa High School homecoming queen. As a student, she is a photographer for the school’s newspaper and yearbook, serves as National Honor Society secretary, is a member of FBLA and is a knowledge bowl participant and helper. She is also a golfer, Link Crew leader and athletic trainer.
Outside of school, Alissa is an intern with Sanluisvalleysports.com, is involved in Wildfire and Reign youth groups, is part of the audio/visual team at her church, is a 4-H club president, a cake decorator, cook and hunter.
She also works part-time, as a janitor at Sorum Tractor, babysitting and for VJ’s Embroidery.
Aside from all of that, Alissa loves to hang out with friends at the golf course, the disk golf course and in the park playing ultimate Frisbee. She has volunteered in Kenya, Africa, at multiple church, 4-H, FBLA and NHS activities, as well as Mountain Valley Dance productions.
Alissa plans to attend college to study art/art education and hopes to have a chance to study abroad. She would like to be an art teacher or graphic designer, but eventually wants to own her own coffee shop.
