Slippery slopes succeed anytime money’s allocated to an area or another.
Earlier this week, the Valley Courier reported that Alamosa High School students, at least one teacher, baseball players, and coaches asked the Alamosa Board of Education to spread monetary support to both areas. Why not? Football, track and field, and soccer got a new stadium. Gymnastics is getting an upgrade. The ag department got a new facility.
It makes sense that other departments would ask for additional support. Money is not unlimited, however.
This begs the question: What receives additional funding and what does not?
