This year, the conversation turned to “Christmas long, long ago.”
Actually, it wasn’t that long ago, but it was within my active memory, so I guess it was -- in the eyes of the grandchildren.
I can’t remember when I stopped believing in Santa Claus, but I think it had to do with a church Christmas program.
We got gifts, anyway, but were still encouraged to be nice, not naughty.
