K.C. at Bat: Gonna be another big adventure!

Posted: Friday, Sep 20th, 2013

What started with avoiding snow slides, bears and extreme lightning, all on backpacking trips, has evolved into a major road trip in the next chapter of “Keith and Deb’s Big Adventures.”

Today we embark on the “Fireball Run Adventurally” as the official ambassadors for the community of Alamosa, one of eight across the southwest honored as host cities for this annual event. Our “Vacation Alamosa” team will be among 40 in this “gripping life-size trivia game, where America serves as the game board,” as we compete for “bragging rights, a greater cause, and a plastic road sign.”

We along with the other FBR teams are assigned a missing child and tasked with helping find each of them by distributing “trading cards” featuring the child’s photo and some details. Our goal is to help locate 16-year-old Elyssa Redden, missing from Evergreen, CO since early February.

Large decals featuring the missing children’s pictures will also be prominently displayed on each participating vehicle.

The FBR is “part live event, part streamed, and part episodic show series. To move about the country and score points, teams solve clues and accomplish tasks based on city points of interest, history and culture.
