David Lloyd Oliver, 89, passed away January 6, 2017 in Alamosa, Colorado. He was born November 22, 1927 in Center, Colorado to Fred and Maude Oliver. David married Mary Swinney and they raised four children together on the family farm in Center, Colorado.
David loved spending time with family, fishing, hunting, being outdoors and traveling with Mary. He was a 50-year member of the Elks Club and a lifelong member of the NRA.
His parents, his loving wife of 60 years Mary, one brother and one sister preceded David in death. He is survived by sons Chuck (Sue) Oliver of Loveland, Colorado, Mike (Shari) Oliver of Center, Colorado, daughters Judy Jarrell of California and Marijane (Mike) White of Roswell, New Mexico, 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Ed Sharp Memorial Chapel at Strohmayer’s Funeral Home; 205 S Broadway; Monte Vista, Colorado. Interment will follow at the Monte Vista Cemetery.
