EVART, Michigan — Arlene Marie Swarthout of Evart passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Metron of Big Rapids. She was 70.
Arlene was born in Barryton, MI on March 14, 1944 to James Sr. and Gladys (DeWitt) Squires. She was a 1962 graduate of Farwell High School. Arlene enjoyed spending time with her family and her cat, Butchie, activities at the Evart Moose Lodge, quilting, sewing, karaoke, and bird watching.
Mrs. Swarthout is survived by her children, William (Cheryl) Werner of Sanford, CO, Anthony (Angie) Werner of Alamosa, CO, Sandra (Jeff) Barden of Marshall, NC, Shondell (Greg) Higel of Alamosa, CO, and Wesley (Holly) Werner of St. Johns, MI, her siblings, James R. (Rozella) Squires of Alamosa, CO, Larry Sr. (Shirley) Squires of Mosca, CO, Kevin (Cindy) Squires of Alamosa, CO, Cindy Pike of Evart, MI, Joyce Turley of Jacksonville, FL, Vicki Squires of Lincoln, NE, and Tomalou Squires of Cadillac, MI, 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her cat of 13 years.
Memorial Services will be held at Alamosa Christian Church 410 McQuerry St. Thursday April 10, 2014 at 7:00 PM. There will also be a Service held at Calvary Baptist Church Evart Michigan April 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM for family that live there.
