Manuel Ontiveros Sanchez, 77

Center resident Manuel Ontiveros Sanchez, 77, passed away February 5, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Manuel was born on March 2, 1936 in El Limon, Durango Mexico, the son of Jose Sanchez and Petra Ontiveros Sanchez. Manuel was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who enjoyed gardening, watching movies, barbequing, attending family activities and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his daughters Socorro Tapia of Mosca, CO; Macrina Garcia of Center, CO; sons Aureliano Sanchez of Vancouver, WA; Jose Sanchez of Galva, KS; Isidro Sanchez of Alamosa, CO; Miguel Sanchez of Colorado Springs, CO; 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and one brother Miguel Sanchez of Durango, MX. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Manuel was preceded in death by his wife Franzisca Gonzalez.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 5:00 PM at the St. Francis Jerome Catholic Church in Center. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 10:00 AM also at the St. Francis Jerome Catholic Church. Interment will be held at the Panteon Municipal Cemetery in Durango, Mexico at a later date. Arrangements are in care of Romero Funeral Home of Alamosa.
