Alamosa resident Cordelia Isabel Tate, 70, passed away November 15, 2013 at the San Luis Care Center surrounded by her loving family. Cordelia was welcomed into this world on December 31, 1942 in Alamosa, Colorado the daughter of Timoteo Lucero and Anita Matilda Gallegos Lucero. Cordelia was united in marriage to Richard Tate on September 17, 1971 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Cordelia was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who was a member of the American Legion, enjoyed going to bingo, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband Richard Lee Tate of Alamosa, CO; daughters Ana Tonarelli (Hector) of Paradise, CA; Debbie Ray (Tinker) of Duncan, AZ; sons David Montanez (Sylvia) of Thornton, CO; Henry Montanez (Ramona) of Alamosa, CO; Ricky Lucero of La Puente, CA; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, sisters Lucille Ortega of Alamosa, CO; Mary Arellano (Adolph) of Capulin, CO; Linda Avila (Ted) of Alamosa, CO; Judy Lucero of Espanola, NM; brothers Martin Lucero (Florence) of Alamosa, CO; Ike Lucero (Josie) of Alamosa, CO; Mike Stefano (Angie) of Alamosa, CO, Manuel Lucero of Yucapia, CA. and Jimmy (Elaine) Lucero of Mentone, CA. She is also survived by dozens of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cordelia was preceded in death by her parents Timoteo and Anita Lucero, son Joey Lucero and brother Tommy Lucero.
A Prayer Service will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 18, 2013 at 10:00 AM also at the River of Life Church. Funeral Reception to follow at the River of Life Church. Arrangements are in care of Romero Funeral Home of Alamosa.
