Heaven has welcomed a new angel. Ft. Garland resident Katie Lynn Allaart-Garcia, 21, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center after a long brave battle with Cystic Fibrosis. She was a strong, vibrant, feisty young woman who never let her illness keep her from doing what she wanted to do. She loved photography; even if it was a phone, she always had a camera in hand. During these years Katie was allowed the fruition of her greatest dream-to meet her prince charming and marry him.
