Alamosa resident Juan Bueno, 80, passed away March 18, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Juan was born on December 25, 1932 in Nuevo Leon, Mexico the son of Juan Bueno Sr., and Celia Solis Bueno. He was united in marriage to Oralia Montoya on December 25, 1960 in Capulin, Colorado. Juan was a wonderful cook, he started with Daniel Rios Sr., then worked for Daniel Rios Jr. for Doris Smith, Fidela and Terry Gibbs and Tim Rivera, all of this covered 46 years, his wonderful recipes will be with us forever. Juan was an amazing and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother who enjoyed spending time with his family, reading his bible, fishing, watching sports, cooking, singing, gardening, going to Wal-Mart as well as spending time with friends.
Survivors include his wife Oralia Bueno of Alamosa, CO; daughters Orpha (Richard) Duran of Monte Vista, CO; Sylvia Bueno of Alamosa, CO; Mildred Tapia of Colorado Springs, CO; sons Rueben Bueno of Alamosa, CO Joel (Irene) Bueno of Donna, TX; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, sisters Rachel (Moses) Flores of Houston, TX; Abby Bueno, Delilah Banks both of Sacramento, CA; brothers Jose Bueno of Shady Cove, OR; Paul (Virginia) Bueno of Pueblo, CO; Joshua (Theresa) Bueno of Sacramento, CA, mother-in-law Anita Montoya of La Jara, CO. He is also survived by numerous brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Juan was preceded in death by his parents Juan and Celia Bueno, one sister Eva Sandoval and father-in-law Christobal Montoya.
A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the River of Life Assembly of God Church in Alamosa. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM also at the River of Life Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013 from 1PM to 5PM at the Romero Funeral Home in Alamosa. Interment will follow at the Alamosa Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Romero Funeral Home of Alamosa.
