MOSCA – Valley resident Gary Neil Gallagher, 52, passed away on January 31, 2013 at his home in Mosca following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on February 17, 1960 in Hereford, Texas to John and Patricia Gallagher.
Gary was very passionate about potatoes and farming. It was second only to his love of family and spending time with his “girls”. He served on the United Fresh Potato Board and on the San Luis Valley Canal District as a board member for 4 years (2 Terms). He loved Colorado and went to the mountains for a 4-wheeler ride and fishing whenever he could.
He is survived by his wife Jill Gallagher of Mosca, his children Holly Eleise (Milan) Tancar of Aurora, Colorado and Jolie Ree Gallagher (Andrew Wells) of Castle Rock, Colorado, his brother Steven Patrick (Amanda) Gallagher, nephews Andrew and Shelby of Mosca, his sister Jamie Michelle (Thomas) Harris, niece Molli of Idalou, Texas, and one brother-in-law Randle (Tracy) Davis, niece Madison of Trophy Club, Texas and two beloved dogs, Lexi and Lucy. Gary was preceded in death by his parents.
