ALAMOSA—Longtime Alamosa resident Aaron Lynn Buckley, 53, passed away at his home under hospice care after his battle with cancer November 5, 2012.
Aaron was born April 1, 1959 in Alamosa, the son of John and Mary Swafford Buckley. He married Kelly Trower on October 12, 1988 in the Denver Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Aaron was active in the church and held many callings throughout the years. He really enjoyed people and was always a content and enjoyable person. Aaron loved cars and enjoyed working on them. His greatest love was his family and he loved the time spent with them camping and enjoying nature.
He is survived by his wife Kelly Buckley of the family home; his sons Ryan, Tyler, Jack and Kevin Buckley; two grandchildren Alyssa and Connor Buckley; his brother David Buckley and sisters Donna (David) Waters, Midge James and Shelley Porrello; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
His father John Buckley, mother Mary “Mickey” McAllister and sisters Norma Jean “Jeanie” Duncan and Brenda Buckley preceded him in death.
A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Alamosa Fourth Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 927 Weber Street in Alamosa. Interment will follow services in the Alamosa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints General Missionary Fund in his memory.
