ALAMOSA — Alamosa resident Edemia Mondragon, 74, passed away October 25, 2012, at the St. Mary Corwin Hospital in Pueblo surrounded by her loving family.
Edemia was born on July 11, 1938, in Cerro, New Mexico, the daughter of Rudy Vigil and Maria Agueda Gomez Vigil. She was united in marriage to Joe A. Mondragon on November 23, 1955.
Edemia was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, fishing, barbequing, going to bingo, embroidering and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband Joe Mondragon of Alamosa, Colo., sons Robert (Suzan) Mondragon of Pueblo, Colo., Orlando (Dora) Mondragon of Denver, Colo., daughters Judy Mondragon of Alamosa, Colo., Irene (George) Lopez of Phoenix, Ariz., Joan (Bonifacio) Garcia of Monte Vista, Colo., 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Edemia was preceded in death by her parents Rudolpho Vigil and Maria Agueda Sanchez.
A Prayer Service will be held on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at 7 p.m. at the River of Life Assembly of God Church in Alamosa. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at 11 a.m. also at the River of Life Church.
Interment will follow at the Spanish Cemetery in Alamosa.
Visitation and viewing will be held on Monday, October 29, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Romero Funeral Home in Alamosa who is in care of the arrangements.
