LA JARAŚManassa resident Ida M. Mitchell, 71, died October 22, 2012 at the Conejos County Hospital in La Jara.
Ida was born May 3, 1941 in Manassa, Colorado the daughter of Cecil Gilbert and Bertha May DePriest Haslett.
She worked for many years as a sales clerk and seamstress for Montgomery Wards in Trinidad, Colorado.
Ida loved to sew. She was active in the Manassa First Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and volunteered by playing the organ and teaching seminary.
She had a love for people and especially children and was an outgoing person who was dedicated to helping others. In her spare time she liked to travel.
She is survived by her children Ramona (Philbert) Armejo of Denver, Ryan Mitchell of Manassa, Curt Mitchell of Hutto, Texas; her grandchildren Briana Booth, Jerica Mitchell, Devon Mitchell, Summer Mitchell, Justina OĺNeal; her great-granddaughter Emilie Booth; her brothers and sisters: Lloyd (Donna) Haslett of Los Lunas, NM, Earl (MaryAnn) Haslett of La Jara, Colo., Sarah (Scott) Kreps of Sanford, Colo., Tim (Christine) Haslett of Alamosa, Colo. and Sonia (Stephen) Johnson of Mapleton, Utah; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Her parents, and her brothers R. LeRoy, Ronald, Donald and William David Haslett preceded her in death.
A Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.- 12:45 p.m. Friday, October 26th at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Manassa. Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Manassa Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will follow services in the Manassa Cemetery.
