ENGLEWOOD — Ft. Garland resident Beulah Lee West, 95, died September 29, 2012 at the Julia Temple Alzheimer’s Center in Englewood.
Beulah was born to Clarence Hudson and Clara Dunn Hudson on September 23, 1917 in Waco, Texas. She married Harvey Ulysses West on February 18, 1937 in La Junta, Colorado.
Beulah moved with her family to Colorado when she was very young. They traveled with her grandfather, who was a minister, to start the Nazarene Church in La Junta. She loved attending church and was active in singing and playing the piano. Beulah worked as a bookkeeper for many years and also was a supervisor for Day Care. She loved children and enjoyed taking care of them.
Beulah is survived by her daughter Sylvia (Joe) Sanchez of Ft. Garland; her grandchildren: Deborah (Jerry) Setliff of Corpus Christi, Texas, Daniel (Melissa) Boston of Sandia, Texas, Diane Boston of Holly Springs, NC, David Boston of Colorado Springs, Dawn (Steve) Wardle of Bull Head City, Ariz., and Deana (Gordon) Spencer of Littleton, Colo.; as well as 16 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great grandchildren.
Her parents, her husband, her sister Bertha Mason, her brother Roy Hudson, her infant sister Leo Hudson and one great-great grandson preceded her in death.
At her request cremation was chosen and private family services will be held at a later date.
