DENVER — Veronica Thelma Lovato, 50, of Denver, Colorado passed away April 19, 2010 in Sheridan, Wyoming.
She was born August 18, 1959 to Rueben and Delmeria Lovato in Alamosa, Colorado. Veronica was a loving and caring mother, daughter and sister. She faced many challenges with her health during her lifetime and embraced it with strength and courage to the very end.
She was preceded in death by her father Rueben Lovato, her grandparents Arcenio and Inumenia Martinez, along with her grandparents Isidore and Thelma Lovato.
Veronica is survived by her mother Delmeria Lovato of Garcia, Colo.; her love of her life Phil Duran of Denver, Colo.; her son Jeremy Valdez of Denver, Colo.; sisters Lucy Strom and husband Erik of Sheridan, Wyo.; Linda Ranieri and husband John of Henderson, Nev.; Louella Lovato and Cy Olson of Dayton, Wyo.; Charlene Thomas and husband Leon of Sheridan Wyo., Carol Lovato of Casper, Wyo. and brothers Rueben and Roy Lovato of Sheridan, Wyo.; Archie Martinez of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Urcelia Auth of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Leandro and Lita Martinez of Pueblo, Colo.; Frank and Virginia Martinez of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Donald and Cathy Martinez of Questa, N.M.; Harland and Hazel of Garcia, Colo.; Daniel Martinez and Helen Miera of Garcia, Colo.; Rufina and Terry Golkowski of Douglas, Wyo.; Michael and Leann Martinez of Pueblo, Colo.; Gina Kessler of Douglas, Wyo.; along with her many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A rosary will be held at the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Costilla, New Mexico on Thursday April 22, 2010 at 7 p.m. and Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 2 p.m. officiated by Father Dino Candelaria. Interment will be held at the Garcia Cemetery, a reception at the Costilla Community Center following the services.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday from 1-5 p.m. at Romero Funeral Chapel in San Luis.
