Rudolph A. Quintana, 84
CAPULIN — Capulin, Colo. resident Rudolph Albert Quintana, 84, passed away Nov. 26, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Rudolph was born in Capulin, Feb. 15, 1925, the son of Jose Quintana and Amalia Martinez Quintana.
Rudolph was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion/ Dickey Springer Post 899 of Alamosa. He also had many other hobbies some of which included farming, growing peas, chopping wood and gambling, but most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife Cora Quintana of the family home in Capulin; one daughter Elizabeth (Jesus M) Jiron of Albuquerque, N.M.; eight sons, Richard (Sara) Quintana, Raymond (Laurie) Quintana, Peter Quintana, Antonio Quintana and Michael (Maria) Quintana all of Capulin, Paul Quintana of Alamosa, Kenneth (Maria) Quintana of Albuquerque and Lee (Ella Mae) Quintana of Antonito; 21 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; four sisters Amada Fulcher, Esther (Ignacio) Gomez and Isabel (Ed) Safford all of Pueblo and Lourdes Teteca of Fremont, Calif; two brothers Manuel Quintana and Laurence (Peggy) Quintana both of Denver.
Rudolph was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Leandro Quintana and one sister Tina Gonzales.
A vigil service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Sun., Nov. 29, 2009 at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph Church in Capulin. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Mon., Nov. 30, 2009 at 10 a.m. also at St. Joseph Church in Capulin. Interment will follow at a private cemetery with full military honors. Arrangements are in care of Romero Funeral Home.
