Brenda Lee Archuleta, 59
COLORADO SPRINGS — Brenda Lee Archuleta, 59, passed away after a courageous three-year battle with lung cancer.
She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Sais, Jr.; sons Ceasar (Jen) and Cory (Jenny) Archuleta; daughter Monica Mansker; grandchildren Chris, Chelsea, Andrew, Alyssa, Dominic, Keegan and Katelyn. Brenda was born in Monte Vista on Jan. 25, 1950 to Eloisa and Santiago Ortega, Sr., both who preceded her in death.
She retired in Monte Vista from 2001-2008 before returning to Colorado Springs for treatment.
She was the “baby” sister of Santiago Jr., Daniel, Eloy, Paul Ortega, Grace Mejia, Norma Herrada (Benny), Emilia Aguilar, and Eileen Romero (Ben). A younger sister, Wanda Fay, preceded her in death during childhood.
Brenda worked for 30 years at HP/Agilent and made many lifelong friendships. Besides being known as a fabulous cook, Brenda loved to dance, bowl and cheer for the Broncos and Yankees.
A private viewing for immediate family members was held Nov. 5, 2009 at Cappadona Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Sat., Nov. 7, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Family Christian Center, 3018 N. Virginia St., Colorado Springs.
