Daniel Robert Foote, 46

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Daniel Robert Foote, 46, passed away on Oct. 30, 2009 in Scottsdale, Ariz. He was born Feb. 26, 1963 to Robert Roy Foote and Sylvia Joyce Mott Foote in Alamosa.

He was employed as a computer systems architect for Ciber Corporation and had previously been employed by IBM for a number of years. Dan graduated from Alamosa High School in 1981 and earned degrees in computer science and business finance from Brigham Young University, graduating with high honors in 1986.

He was an avid supporter of BYU athletics and was a Legacy member of Cougar Club. He spearheaded the effort to endow BYU’s student athletic department with “Turning Point”, a large bronze statue of a cougar running downhill by his friend Jocelyn Lillpop, as well as to boost membership at the Legacy level. He also dearly loved the San Luis Valley and ASC athletics. Dan would often remark that “all roads lead to the valley”. His greatest accomplishment, however, was his son, Nathaniel Robert “Nate” who is 6-years old and was the light of his life.

Dan will be remembered fondly for his positive outlook on life, his constant bright smile and his witty sense of humor.

He is survived by his loving wife Lisa Lavold Foote and his son, Nate Foote, of Mesa, Ariz; his mother Joyce Foote of Alamosa; his sister Stacey Foote and his niece Robyn Wilson of Payson, Ariz. and his brother Chris Foote of Alamosa.

Funeral services were held Wed., Nov 4, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Mesa LDS Central Stake Center, 925 N. Harris Street, Mesa, Ariz. A graveside service will be held Fri., Nov. 6, 2009 at 11 a.m, at the Alamosa Cemetery.

A celebration of Danny’s life will be held following the graveside services at the Blue Foxx at Cattails Golf Course. Donations can be made in his name to a charity of your choice or to ASC Athletic Foundation care of Rogers Family Mortuary. Arrangements are being made by Rogers Family Mortuary.
