C. Martin Medina, 71
ALAMOSA — Alamosa, Colo. resident C. Martin Medina, 71, died Nov. 1, 2009 at his home in Alamosa. Martin was born Oct. 12, 1938 in Monte Vista to Horace J. and Molly Romero Medina. He married Martha F. Rolling on Aug. 13, 1960.
Martin worked for more than 30-years and until his retirement as a telephone repairman for Mountain Bell. He spent a great deal of his time working throughout the eastern and southern part of the San Luis Valley. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially cherished the time he spent with his grandkids. Martin also enjoyed reading.
He is survived by his wife Martha Felicita Medina of Alamosa; his children Susan (Galen) Hof of Alamosa, Carl Leland (Roberta) Medina of North Richland Hills, Texas and Matthew James Medina of Ft. Worth, Texas; grandchildren Arah and Sam Hof of N. Richland Hills and Rachael and Rebekah Medina of Ft. Worth; his brother John Medina of San Diego, Calif; his uncle Martin (Ella) Romero of Alamosa; special cousin Martha Salazar of Monte Vista and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
His parents, his sister Dorothy Medina, his brother Robert L. Medina and his sister-in-law Gwen Medina all preceded him in death
Cremation was chosen and a Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thur., Nov. 5, 2009 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. A Recitation of the Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Wed., Nov. 4, 2009 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. Inurnment of ashes will follow services in the Alamosa Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the Alamosa Food Bank and may be made at the funeral home office. Rogers Family Mortuary of Alamosa is in care of the arrangements.
