Stampede week busy for MV police

MONTE VISTA Ski Hi Stampede kept the Monte Vista Police Department busy this weekend with incidents ranging from intoxicated attendees to an alleged sexual assault.

On Sunday, July 27, the police arrested carnival worker Hector Lopez, 34, of Mexico, for sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, which is a class 3 felony. According to Monte Vista Police Chief James Grayson police were called to the carnival at Ski Hi Park on Sunday regarding an alleged sexual assault on a child. A 13 year-old reported unlawful sexual contact that had occurred on the previous evening by an employee of Wright Entertainment while inside one of the attractions at the carnival.
