ALAMOSA — Rio Grande Healthy Living Park (RGHLP) supporters are hard at work raising $900,000 to purchase the Polston property from Dan Russell before the end of June.
As of Friday, the supporters, which include Keep Polston Public (KPP) and the San Luis Valley Local Foods Coalition (LFC), had raised $82,112 and had confirmed pledges totaling $20,000, according to LFC Executive Director Liza Marron. She did not disclose the donors’ names.
“This is an exciting project and an exciting opportunity,” Marron said during the LFC’s regular monthly meeting in Alamosa yesterday. “This is more than just acquiring the land.”
