Meth, heroine arrest made

ALAMOSA A simple shoplifting case quickly turned into a drug arrest involving heroin and methamphetamine for the Alamosa Police Department (APD) on Wednesday afternoon.

APD officer Brendan Pichon arrested Vernon Mott, 28, Alamosa on two felony counts of a controlled substance and two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute after his vehicle was connected with a Wal Mart shoplifting case, according to APD reports. Jessica Broughman, 25, Alamosa, allegedly fled the store with unpaid items concealed in her purse and left the premises in a red sedan, which was located at 11th Street and Railroad Avenue soon after the shoplifting report was made to the APD.
