Valley district ACT scores improving

VALLEY – Six Valley school districts’ American College Testing (ACT) composite scores increased in 2013 compared to three last year.

Sargent and Sangre de Cristo School District’s ACT composite scores jumped up 3.4 points this year, and both surpassing the state average of 20.1 out of a possible 36, according to Colorado Department of Education (CDE) reports. In 2012, Sargent’s average composite score was an 18.7, which was below the state average of 20 and this year the school scored a 22.1. Last year, Sangre de Cristo scored a 19 and this year a 21.4.
