ALAMOSA — Local authorities apprehended a female earlier this week suspected of intentionally lighting a car on fire in the San Luis Care Center parking lot on Monday.

Charges are pending with the District Attorney (DA) against an Alamosa woman allegedly witnessed at the scene of the crime, according to Alamosa Police Department (APD) reports. Physical evidence and lack of an alibi also connect the woman to Mckenna Quinlan’s Chevy Camero that authorities found engulfed in flames at 1:46 a.m. in the Craft Street parking lot.

APD officers and the Alamosa Fire Department responded to the call and the fire was extinguished before the flames, which were coming from inside the cab and shooting through the car’s t-tops, could burn the engine compartment, according to the report. Initial APD investigations found the suspect was allegedly angry with Quinlan, who works at the care center, over a personal matter, which allegedly provoked the destructive and criminal act.
