Emergency responders assist those injured in a two-car crash at the intersection of Highways 160 and 17 in Alamosa about 1 p.m. on Thursday. Authorities are still looking for the driver of the 2004 Jeep Cherokee, which was headed south on Highway 17 towards the Highway 160 intersection, failed to stop at the posted stop sign at the intersection and collided with the front of a 2007 Chevy Truck that was attempting to turn north onto Highway 17. The driver of the Jeep Cherokee fled the scene on foot, according to the Colorado State Patrol. The driver of the Chevy and the passenger of the Jeep were both transported to San Luis Valley Health. Investigation continues into the crash, and law enforcement suspects alcohol may have been a factor.
