VALLEY — Those who are producers in Sub-district #1 and are considering participating in the sub-district fallowing program for 2013, come sign-up for additional assistance with the Rio Grande Watershed Association of Conservation Districts Targeted Proposal Project.
Projects could include cover crops and irrigation management practices that will help achieve the lowest possible acre use of irrigation water. Producers may sign-up through their local Natural Resource Conservation Service, (NRCS) offices in Alamosa, Center, or Monte Vista.
Sign-up is an indication of interest in the program and not a commitment to funding. The program may be used in combination with other NRCS offerings.
The sign-up deadline date for this funding is November 30. Local NRCS offices will have the latest information on the program.
They can be reached by calling Alamosa at 589-3907, Monte Vista at 852- 5114 or the Center office at 754-3400.
