ALAMOSA — A recent burglary, one of several in recent weeks in the Alamosa area, resulted in the arrest of 22-year-old Robert Sierra this week.

Alamosa Police Department officers arrested Sierra after investigating an October 31 report of a burglary to the residence at 1611 Edison Avenue in Alamosa.

It was reported that the suspects forced entry into the residence and storage sheds, ransacking both, and stealing tools and money.

Subsequent investigation resulted in Sierra’s arrest. He is currently being held at the Alamosa County Detention Center on charges of burglary and theft.

A second suspect has been identified and officers are seeking the assistance of community members in locating him. This subject is Daniel Brandt, 25, who is approximately 5’9” tall and weighing approximately 125 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact Corporal Ken Anderson at (719) 589-2548.

In recent weeks the City of Alamosa has suffered an increase in burglaries and trespass to vehicles occurring at all times of the day and night, according to the Alamosa Police Department. While electronics, cash, jewelry, and tools are predominantly what have been taken, prescription drugs seem to be of great interest to those responsible for these crimes.

Community members are reminded to lock their cars, keep their homes secure, to dispose of unwanted/unused prescription drugs, and to report suspicious persons and activity to police when they see it.
