CSP Trooper Mark Parsons conducts his investigation into an injury accident Tuesday evening on the Hwy. 285 frontage road at the entrance into the Wagon Wheel Mobile Home Park. A teen male who was an occupant of the vehicle is handcuffed while being interviewed by authorities. Two young children and the underage driver were injured in the accident. A 16-year-old Alamosa female is expected to be charged with driving under the influence, illegal consumption of alcohol, careless driving causing injury, driving without a license and criminal negligence resulting in the injury of a child after a car she was driving rammed into a tree at the Wagon Wheel Mobile Home Park Tuesday evening. The car, a 2001 Oldsmobile, is owned by Arali Gamboa of Alamosa, the sister of one of the passengers. The driver of the car and two children; a 20-month old boy and a four-year old girl, were transported to San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center. Three other passengers, two teenage males and one female were not transported to the hospital. The infant was released but the four-year old girl, who suffered a cut on her ankle, was kept for observation. The driver of the car suffered injuries to her face and arm and was still being evaluated at the hospital at press time. At the scene the driver said she had stepped on the brake to turn into the trailer park but the car wouldn’t turn and it went straight into the tree.
