MOSCA – Almost all of the San Luis Valley high school track and field programs competed in the Wayne Thomas Memorial Invitational Friday at Sangre de Cristo’s stadium.

Alamosa
Four Alamosa boys were place winners in their events. Kingston Wilcox tied for second in the high jump at 5-2, and Caleb Brown was fourth in the same event at 5-0. Adlai Gardner took fifth in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles in 53.44 seconds, and Grant Kirkland was sixth in the 800-meter run in 2:35.91.
The Mean Moose were third in the 4x800-meter relay in 10:47.78.
Three Lady Mean Moose athletes placed in their events. Kaylee Gonzales-Moore was second in the 100-meter dash in 13.87, Lily Heersink was second in the 300 hurdles in 53.64 and fourth in the 100 hurdles in 18.88, and Shea Jordan was sixth in the shot put at 22-8 ½.

Center
The Vikings were led by Andree Meraz who won the discus at 124-7 and was third in the shot put at 35-8 ½. One other Center male athlete placed in more than one event as Francisco Villa was fifth in the 1,600 in 5:41.66 and fifth in the 200 at 27.90.
Four more Vikings placed in one event. Timone Dolan was third in the 300 hurdles in 51.35, Yanixan Padilla was third in the 1,600 in 5:35.60, Anjel Palma was fourth in the triple jump at 33-3 ¼, and Caden Ruggles was fourth in the 300 hurdles in 52.55.
Center was fifth in the boys 4x200 in 1:45.31.
Three Lady Vikings were also place winners. Giselle Meraz was fourth in the discus at 76-9, Nayeli Pablo was sixth in the 800 in 3:26.30, and Emiliana Valadez was sixth in the discus at 66-5.

Del Norte
Two Del Norte boys placed in the 400-meter run. Cruz Matta was second in 59.58 and Corbin Horrocks was fourth in 1:01.62.
The Tigers won two relays. They won the 800 sprint medley in 1:46.41 and the 4x800 in 9:36.39.
For the Lady Tigers, Timay Garcia was fourth in the 400 in 1:13.31.

Monte Vista
The Pirates had three placers in boys individual events. Jack Noonan was fourth in the 100 in 12.19, Ismael Medina was sixth in the 100 in 12.33, and JohnJake Naranjo tied for sixth in the shot put 30-1.
The Pirates exceled in relay events including wins in the 4x100 in 47.57 and the 4x400 in 4:03.29. They were also second in the 4x200 in 1:39.68 and fourth in the 4x800 in 11:18.43.
Nine Lady Pirates were place winners and were led by Elena Baumgardner who won the triple jump at 28-8 ¼. Two Monte Vista girls placed in more than one event as Hannah Henderhan was second in the discus at 82-7 and second in the shot put at 26-9 ½, and Lola Mott was fifth in the 400 in 1:14.31 and fifth in the 200 in 33.11.
The remaining Lady Pirates placers included Sasha Dupont who was third in the 100 in 14.43, Madison Henderhan who was third in the shot put at 26-9 ½, Nayeli Murietta who was third in the triple jump at 28-6 ¾, Daylin Castro who was fifth in the 300 hurdles in 1:01.46, Angeleigha Mora who was fifth in the 100 in 14.72, and Kaliah Stucky who was sixth in the 300 hurdles in 1:11.66.
Monte placed in four girls hurdles. It was second in the 4x100 in 55.94, second in the 4x200 in 2:00.14, second in the 4x400 in 5:22.60, and fourth in the 800 sprint medley in 2:14.02.

Sanford
Leading the Mustangs was Lincoln Reynolds who won the 100 in 11.48 and the 400 in 54.58.
Also placing for the Sanford boys were Tucker Canty who was third in the 400 in 59.60, and Bryce Keck who was sixth in the 200 in 27.99.
The Mustangs placed in three boys relays. They were third in the 4x100 in 49.75, third in the 800 sprint medley in 1:49.32 and fourth in the 4x200 in 1:44.44.
The Lady Mustangs had two athletes who won more than one event. Holly McDaniel won the 100 hurdles in 17.43, the 300 hurdles in 52.83 and the long jump at 15-3 ¼. Erica Miller on the 400 in 1:05.50 and the 800 in 2:50.69.
Three more Sanford girls placed in two events. Claire Crowther was second in the long jump at 15-1 ½ and sixth in the 200 in 33.24, Kate McDaniel was fourth in the triple jump at 27-9 ½ and fifth in the 100 hurdles in 20.02, and Brecken Crowther was fifth in the long jump at 13-2 ½ and fifth in the triple jump at 25-5 ½.
Also placing for the Lady Mustangs were Ashley Dominguez who was third in the 200 in 32.99, and Zaidah Najera who was fifth in the 1,600 in 9:04.08.
Sanford placed in four girls relays including a win in the 4x100 in 55.74. It was also second in the 800 sprint medley in 2:00.46, second in the 4x800 in 14:33.19, and third in the 4x200 in 2:05.55.

Sangre de Cristo
Three Thunderbirds placed in more than one event. Brody Artaechevarria was second in the 800 in 2:28.62, fifth in the 400 in 1:02.10 and fifth in the triple jump at 32-10. Anthony Trujillo was third in the 100 in 12.12 and third in the 200 in 27.14. William Wilson was sixth in the 1,600 in 5:44.84 and sixth in the 400 in 1:02.64.
Also placing for the Sangre boys were Hayden Cleve who was third in the triple jump at 33-11, and Juan Garcia who was fourth in the 800 in 2:32.33.
The Thunderbirds were also second in the 4x800 in 10:13.34.
Only one Lady Thunderbird placed as Taylor Freel was third in the discus at 82-0 and fifth in the shot put at 22-11 ¾.

Sargent
One Farmer placed for the Sargent boys. Westen Burkhart was second in the 300 hurdles in 49.44, third in the 800 in 2:29.32 and fourth in the long jump at 16-4 ¼.
Three Lady Farmers placed in multiple events. Silva Daugherty was second in the 200 in 32.76 and sixth in the 400 in 1:14.75. Bailey Asbell was third in the 100 hurdles in 17.89, third in the 300 hurdles in 56.82, third in the high jump at 4-2 and third in the long jump at 13-10 ½. Madeline Mitchell was third in the 400 in 1:11.68, sixth in the 100 in 14.81 and sixth in the long jump at 11-10 ½.
Sargent’s only other placer was KayleeAnn Martinez was third in the 1,600 in 7:20.44.

Sierra Grande
The Panthers were led by Nehemiah Wilson who won the high jump at 5-6, and Ayden Lopez who tied for second in the high jump at 5-2 and fifth in the long jump at 16-4.
Sierra Grande was also fifth in the boys 4x100 in 57.45.
