Martin J. Hochstetler, 78 of La Jara, Colorado passed away on October 31, 2018 at the home of his son Edwin and family. 

He was born in Wayne County, Ohio near Applecreek to Jonas M. and Anna (Miller) Hochstetler on July 27, 1940.  On May 7, 1970 he married Susan I. Troyer.  He was a member of the old order Amish Church and was ordained as a minister on October 21, 1981 at Rexford, Montana.

He is survived by his wife Susan of La Jara, his two sons, Steven (Tabetha) Hochstetler of Tupelo, Oklahoma and Edwin (Ann) Hochstetler of La Jara, Colorado, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, his siblings, Iva (Jonas) Weaver, Atlee (Drusilla), Abe (Anna), Daniel (Susan), Aden (Mary), Ivan (Ruby) Hochstetler and Kathy (Levi) Schlabach, sister-in-law Fanny Hochstetler all of Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Jacob and Sister Ella.

A funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday November 4, 2018.  Visitations will be held on November 2nd and November 3rd starting at 3 p.m. on both days at David Coblentz residence (Skyline Metal).  Ben Coblentzis the Bishop officiating.  Burial will follow services in the Monte Vista Amish Cemetery.
