‘Guadalupe in the Guest Room’ begins at CRT

CREEDE — Opening this week at Creede Repertory Theatre is Guadalupe in the Guest Room.

Guadalupe has lost a daughter, Steve has lost a wife, and neither of them can find enough common ground to talk about it. Coupled with the fact that neither of them can speak the other’s language, they find a new way to connect — through

an unlikely love of Telenovela—the wildly popular Latin American soap opera.

How can such different people come together and take a step toward healing?

Guadalupe offers a profound look into the complexities of language, grief, loneliness, love, laughter, and new beginnings.

Guadalupe in the Guest Room is held in CRT’s Ruth Humphreys Brown Theatre. This show seamlessly ties together moments of reflection, joy, grief, laughter, and warmth.

The show opens Friday, August 17th at 7:30 p.m. and will run again on Saturday, August 18th at 7:30 p.m. Don’t miss the Pre-Show Talk at 7 p.m. right in the theatre!
