Fireworks, fire bans lifting

ALAMOSA — Alamosa County’s Stage One fire ban will be lifted at 8 a.m. on Friday, July 20, and the City of Alamosa will lift its fireworks ban on that same day, according to Alamosa County Sheriff Robert Jackson and Alamosa Fire Chief Don Chapman. (By city ordinance, burning of trash and similar activities are still not allowed in the city limits.)

The public fireworks display that was postponed from the Fourth of July has still not been rescheduled, but the fire chief and other city staff are working with SLV Federal Bank, who sponsors the event, to reschedule it during one of the upcoming events in Alamosa.
