ALAMOSA— Narrow Gauge Book Cooperative (NGBC) is set to host a tea party and book sale after the Alamosa and San Luis Valley March on Saturday, Jan. 19 from noon until 3 p.m. NGBC, newly reopened and supported by the community, will provide a free cup of tea with every NGBC mug purchase. Select feminist books will also be 10 percent off.

“Historically, the Women’s March has been an occasion for the community to come together and  lift up the voices of women,” said NGBC General Manager Marlena Antonucci. “The Narrow Gauge Book Cooperative is excited to be a place for these open conversations.”

The tea served at the post-Women’s March tea party and book sale will be sourced from the Old Barrel Tea Company. Old Barrel Tea Company is run by women, and the NGBC is excited to share a tea that contributes to the Jan. 19 celebration of women.

“In the spirit of female solidarity, we will be serving tea from a female-run New Mexican business, Old Barrel Tea Company,” said Antonucci. “Their team believes that sharing tea is about sharing wellness and advocating self-love.”

The sale and tea party will take place at NGBC, located at 602 Main St. in Alamosa. Questions about the event can be directed to Marlena Antonucci at 589-3464. Come and enjoy this celebration of women after the march. It’s just your cup of tea.
