‘10-Minute Play Festival’ is planned for September 5

CREEDE—CRT’s company generated 10-Minute Play Festival is back for its fourth year on Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. in The Ruth Humphries Brown Theatre. One of the most exciting nights of the season, the festival features original plays written, directed and acted by CRT’s talented company. In May, all past and present Creede Repertory Theatre company members (across all departments) are given a one-word theme to inspire these 10-minute plays. This year’s theme is Pilgrimage and the selections are as follows:

A Scavenge by Brian Watkins, directed by John DiAntonio

Mother Mary of the Mournful Heart by Lojo Simon, directed by Rick Reeves

Returning by Mandy Heath, directed by David Cohen

Shrimping by Mark Exline, directed by Logan Foy

June 19, 1999 by Sky Bradley, directed by Anne F. Butler

And that’s not all. This year, CRT is proud to introduce the 24-Hour Play Challenge! A four-person team, led by playwright Zoe Ruth and director Graham Ward, will write, stage, rehearse, memorize, and design a play in just 24 hours. On Sept. 4 at 7 p.m., the playwright will randomly draw the title of the play that will be created and performed only 24 hours later.

Join the play festival on Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. in The Ruth. This is a walk-up, pay what you can event.
