Kelly Jo Heersink, 47
ALAMOSA — Alamosa, Colo. resident Kelly Jo Heersink, 47, died Oct. 18, 2007 at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center in Alamosa.
Kelly was born May 12, 1960 in Alamosa the daughter of Lloyd Rosacker and Marion Campbell. She married her husband Doug Heersink in Alamosa on June 26, 1982.
Kelly was an active member of the Alamosa Christian Reformed Church in Waverly. She loved the Lord her God with all her heart, soul, mind and strength and loved her neighbor as herself, and especially the children she worked with.
Kelly worked as a speech and language therapist and had a master’s degree with an early childhood specialty. She was employed by BOCES and worked there for 13 years.
Her hobbies were traveling and bowling. She was a member of the Valley Community Chorus. Her family was the most important thing in her life
Kelly is survived by her husband Doug Heersink of the family home in Alamosa; her children Kevin (Danielle) Heersink, and Daniel Heersink of Lakewood, Colo. and Amanda Heersink of Alamosa; her father Lloyd Rosacker of La.; her step-father George Campbell of Clay Center, Kan.; her brothers Mitch (Ginger) Rosacker of Englewood, Colo, and Marsh (Brenda) Sheets of Parker, Colo. as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.
Her mother Marion Campbell preceded her in death.
A visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. Wed., Oct. 24 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thur., Oct. 25, 2007 at the Alamosa Cemetery followed by a funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday at the Alamosa Christian Reformed Church in Waverly. Contributions are suggested to the KFLQ christian radio station and can be made through the funeral home office or the church.
